You did the hard part. Tomorrow you'll do more.

/u/Belazor
It sounds like you're in a kind of
"wheee-woooo-wheee-woooo" situation.
/u/SuburbanEnnui2020
Exercise today? Eh... tomorrow comes.
/u/BeneficialSector7458
Came here to say this 😂
/u/Murasasme
I love that this phrase is the complete opposite of
don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today (a
popular saying in my country)
/u/PhysicalAnt7488
Joking, i say, do tomorrow what could be done today
/u/Electrical-Apple-631
There are 3 rules for professional procrastinators:

1) Don't do today that what you can do tomorrow.

2) Don't do tomorrow that what you can put off
indefinitely.

3)Don't do what you put off indefinitely that what you
can avoid completely.
/u/btveron
I jokingly say that tomorrow me is really not going to
be very happy with today me when I procrastinate too
much lol
/u/PhysicalAnt7488
I saw on a t-shirt, I put the pro in procrastinate
/u/Higira
I always say... It's tomorrow's me problem. Not today
me.
/u/Hazee302
This game is such an absolute banger all around.

I'm going back to the gym today after about 2 months off
due to family stuff. I'm not stressing about weight,
reps, anything until I'm back in the habit of going.
/u/x_scion_x
I really, really like this.

Would probably make returning much easier rather than
trying to force yourself to hit some number.
/u/bloodfist
Personally I've only kept track of that stuff when I
have gym buddies who get motivated by being competitive.
Doesn't matter at all to me.

I count my reps to know how many to do, and I go up in
weight when it feels right. If that's too hard today, I
go back down. I notice when I've gone up in weight and
it feels good, but I don't need to prove anything. Form,
repetition, and consistency mean more to your gains than
any specific number.

Only one I really put any self-worth into is how long I
am able to keep up the routine. I've had to accept that
sometimes I'll go a year or more where I just don't
wanna and I can't make me. So I need to push myself
through those first few months where it's just torture
half the time. But like Terry Crews says, just go and
get changed and spend the hour there. You can read a
book in the parking lot if you want. But by then you'll
probably want to work out at least a little.
/u/skitchbeatz
Honestly to get in the best shape the only unlock you
need is just to remember all of these numbers from last
week and go up 1% in your weight, or effort. It doesn't
always work but in general that's all you need. The rest
comes with it.
/u/DisillusionedHobbit
Interesting hearing what works for different people.
Keeping track of all that stuff keeps me motivated and
on track - I like knowing that I was able to do
something better than the last time.
/u/Chemieju
The number to hit is "do the warmup". 9 put of 10 times
you'll do more afterwards. 1 out of 10 times you go home
afterwards, and thats allright.

Same trick works for eating less fastfood, tell
yourself "you can allways order a second time" and take
only a small ammount. Most times you'll be satisfied
after that, and occasionally you just eat some more.
/u/NecessaryPen7
Family stuff often turns into a reason to avoid.

I gained 20lbs and lost muscle this winter with family
stuff. Zero reason i couldn't be doing squats and
pushups. Would have helped with stress, sleeping,
everything
/u/PM_me_punanis
Rest is good for the body and the mind. It should be a
right on the constitution at this point since
corporations that rule the world make us feel guilty for
resting. That should force them to change their
policies.

Of course, I am dreaming lol
/u/Airmcghie1
Exactly, and if she fell asleep it meant she needed it.
We need to stop treating taking care of ourselves as a
sin. In other countries they have a work life balance,
they have to use their vacation days, they have
universal healthcare and paid maternity and paternity
leave. They have mental health care facilities and homes
for the elderly that aren't going to cost you 4-7k a
month. We are hamsters on a wheel as the middle class
disappears and the rich get richer while everyone one
else is barely hanging on both monetarily and
physically. And the powerful and rich just blame us. The
amount of times I've heard the insanely wealthy
complaining that poor people are entitled and just want
hand outs and they're just not budgeting well is
astounding. None of these people would last a day in
their shoes.
/u/InnocentPrimeMate
Meditation is important, too
/u/Signal_Challenge_539
This is what I came here to say
/u/Unarchy
Yes, a 15 minute nap instead of a measly 5 minutes.
/u/Left-Doubt-203
A case of oldieosis...
/u/Aleksandrovitch
I was just thinking that before commenting. I'd pat
yourself on the back.

Some big deep breaths usually banish sleepiness enough
for me to start without wanting to evaporate.
/u/Wooden_Objective_721
Gotta sleep well or working out wont be effective
/u/BiBoFieTo
My strategy is three sets, followed by six months of
rest.
/u/Jetztinberlin
"It's like I did that push-up last year for nothing!"
/u/pchlster
I was told to always master one step before advancing.
These gym types talk about eating well before working
out. I'm still convinced I could find more stuff to eat,
so I'd better wait.
/u/EEpromChip
...can we space out the sets a bit with rest?
/u/sephkane
Look at this triathlete over here
/u/tillerman35
I've spent my entire life trying to put the "ex" back in
"exercise."
/u/Cyraga
I do the same. I'm in the 4th year of rest so that'll be
about 24 sets when I get to it
/u/NefariousnessOk209
5-15 is a solid refresher too, a half an hour or longer
will make you feel groggy.
/u/Icy-Introduction5592
Why call me out like this? I'll go to sleep when I feel
like it.
/u/SuicidalWeeb69
Fell asleep writing the title
/u/DeTalores
Thanks, I legit could not understand what was happening
here lol.
/u/Moiyub
He set everything up for the workout, 5 minutes later
someone came in and died on the mat, then the daughter
took a picture of the dead body, then the daughter
showed her dad the picture she just took of the dead
body on the mat
/u/IBullyFurnaces
Pretend the period doesn't exist
/u/Top-Noise5959
Oh lord! I thought I was the only one confused.
/u/LuckyDuckTheDuck
Hey OP, when's the last time you checked your carbon
monoxide detectors?
/u/Seiche
My "daughter" is leaving me sticky notes and taking
pictures of me
/u/NotTotallyHere
I thought I fell asleep reading the title!
/u/zero5activated
Truthfully, sometimes your body needs sleep. It's not
sloth; your body is just trying to heal and exercising
can hinder that.
/u/Flashy_Comfortable_8
Agreed. If you're falling asleep that fast after just
setting up workout stuff, you're definitely not getting
enough sleep.
/u/zero5activated
Not enough sleep, a smaller diet, not enough nutrition,
age etc. Or sometimes, it's just a nice day, sunny blue
sky and soft winds can lull anyone to sleep. It's
summer, enjoy your siesta and rest up.
/u/wanderlinks
Ahhh, it's been so long since I was lulled into sleep
watching the blue sky. Miss it. :')
/u/Cheet4h
Could also be a sign of sleep illnesses, where you
cannot get enough sleep, like narcolepsy, excessive
daytime sleepiness, or sleep apnea.

/u/nocluebeing, if something like this is a regular
occurence, consider consulting a sleep doctor. I know
somebody with narcolepsy and their quality of life went
up dramatically after they dialed in the right
treatment.
Sleep illnesses are also not really something that is
easy to deduce for the afflicted people, since it's
really hard to gauge your own sleepiness in comparison
to others.
/u/goopuslang
Reddit mob yesterday tried telling me, "if you're
healthy, you should workout at least once every day."
Like... dawgs... genuinely can't talk to people on here
/u/ICame4TheCirclejerk
Exactly this. My body has been healing all my life and
my fat ass just can't get started on that exercise part.
/u/QuantumFighter_999
NGL. I struggled to understand the title and picture
correlation. I think I need a nap too.
/u/photosendtrain
It reads as if the daughter showed this image 5 mins
after the workout stuff was setup. Which doesn't make
sense because it says they were woke up. Hard to
understand.

For those confused, OP is the person in the photo. They
setup their workout equipment, then 5 minutes later took
a nap. Their daughter took the picture, woke up OP, and
then showed them it.
/u/ibulleti
I thought the husband saw it and thought, for me?
/u/crumble-bee
I thought someone came in and went to sleep on their
workout mat stopping them from working out
/u/GimmieGummies
Haha, ditto. I had to read the comments to understand
what I was seeing and why it was funny 🤷‍♀️
/u/Mauchit_Ron
This title gave me diarrhea and made me blind in one eye
/u/wimpires
A picture of me asleep, 5 mins after I set up everything
for my workout.
/u/neriisan
Ty I had no idea what op was trying to type tbh
/u/PM_YOUR__BUBBLE_BUTT
Hey now, they did their best. They probably typed it
while they're still sleepy!
/u/ShoppingUnable7162
I don't know why, but i read it in a Scottish accent
from Scottish-Indian shop scene in Still Game. 😂
/u/King0fthewasteland
The title made the hair on my nuts fall off
/u/LentilRice
..fall off into his mouth.
/u/Haruka_Kazuta
Not horribly written, just written in a confusing way.

"Daughter took a picture of me, asleep, after preparing
to workout"
/u/BizarreCake
That's kinda what being poorly written implies, lol...
/u/doomgiver98
The second sentence is a phrase fragment and a
non-sequitur. It is poorly written.
/u/retro-morte
I wonder if OP is also southern because I read this
perfectly
/u/rolandjernts
The hardest part is showing up.
The second hardest part is staying awake.
/u/nocluebeing
I showed up, I slept well. I'll workout tomorrow
/u/lizardhindbrain
Guess you needed the nap.
/u/UseDue6373
I'm sitting on my bed procrastinating driving to the
gym. I know once I'm in there I'll feel good
/u/nocluebeing
You got this. Get a thick yoga mat amd listen to your
body. Maybe you too need a nap :)
/u/Most_Can_2136
I wish I could doze off like that. I bet that felt
wonderful. There's nothing like the feeling of
refreshment after you wake up from a good nap. Your body
knows best.
/u/Suz626
Aww glad you got a nap! Next time you'll get a step
further into your work out.
/u/icietlabas
I used to sleep in my workout clothes to eliminate one
obstacle for getting myself to the gym. Just an idea.
(Now I have a workout buddy so getting started is
easier.).

OTOH, I think sleep is more important than working out.
/u/1012Ford
You're doing great! Progress not perfection.
/u/dammitjanetiloveu
Sounds like daughter found her sleeping, snapped the
pic, then woke her up and showed her the pic. She had
fallen asleep a few min after she set things up for her
workout.

OP maybe you need to get checked out for narcolepsy.
/u/nocluebeing
Thanks for explaining. Sorry about the title. Btw I'm
the dad
/u/25c-nb
Brother.. you may be pushing it a bit too hard. If your
passing out like that, it may be a sign. Go easier on
yourself, maybe you need to catch up a little on sleep.
Obviously you care about taking care of yourself, gettin
enough sleep is part of that hehe
/u/dammitjanetiloveu
Oops I apologize for misgendering!
/u/kratomdevil
Dude sleeps like a lady
/u/web_knows
You owe me 10 cents. That last sentence costed me a spat
out coffee sip.
/u/rbrgr83
Or blood sugar at least.
Are you peeing a lot?
/u/Sagaquarius1329
Hey, an exercise mat can have many uses 🤷‍♀️
/u/nocluebeing
I'm worried I'll be using it more for this new purpose
😴
/u/Conscious_Chain_238
I love the internet. Well at least u made use of the
yoga mat
/u/nocluebeing
True, today I fell for the comfiness of the mat lol. I
always found it comfortable for working out or maybe I
just needed to sleep badly
/u/shhhpark
putting a mat down....i'm all set up!!
/u/P_J_Frye
One night I went down to do my first day of P90X and I
went whole hog. The goal was to be in shape by a certain
date where I had to do a small performance shirtless.
The next morning my wife was waking me up getting me off
the same spot I failed my last sit up. She said I was
there the whole night. I responded "I must have fell
asleep". Her reply was "no, you passed out"
/u/nocluebeing
Passing out is no joke. Take it slow just like me
/u/notabigmelvillecrowd
I set up for my workout today, then spent the next 20
minutes lying on my yoga mat ordering a couch. So I feel
ya.
/u/nocluebeing
I have the same problem except that the couch will be
still in the cart and not checked out. Kudos to you for
making the order
/u/HopelessLiveMore24
Hey, furniture ordering is strenuous business! Elevated
heart rate and all.
/u/FacetiouslyWry
I thought it was just some random-ass dude on your mat.
and I was just gonna ask whose fuckin dude it really
was? Your's or just some freakin rando's?
/u/DJC2913
Some of my best naps have been on the floor while
anticipating exercise.
/u/Succulent-Shrimps
You had the right intention 🤣. Sounds like you and
your daughter have a good relationship. It's important
to be able to laugh at things.
/u/PsychologicalLoad542
I remember years ago after having my daughter, I'd put
on fitness videos from YouTube or whatever, with the
full intention of working out. But my husband would walk
into the living room to find me sitting on the floor
against the couch, asleep, with a half eaten stick of
string cheese 🤣

A for effort though !
/u/nocluebeing
Lol I can relate to that. Hope its different now and you
have eaten the full stick this time 😂
/u/Boinkyboinky
Tell everyone you were stretching your eyelids.
/u/BeefEater81
It appears your fitness strategy....
/u/49wanderer
How many "Nap Reps" did you get in, exactly? Remember,
it's important to start out slowly, and gradually build
them up! Once you're ready, you can extend the length of
time for each "Nap Rep"!

Oh, and once you really get the hang of those longer
naps? I can recommend a really good exercise, where you
use all of the skills you've learned and have been
practicing in your "Nap Reps", and apply it directly to
an exercise you need to do, every evening. It's called
"8 Hours of Uninterrupted Sleep".

You may have heard of it before, and it's also highly
likely that before you had children, you found meeting
the demands and length of this exercise, quite easy.
It's been observed that teens and those in their 20s
seem to be the best at it! 😂
